STUDENT ACTIVITY
Student work. Lydia S., Color Collage.
In fashion, there is more to color than how it looks on us; color has a profound effect on how we feel too. Have students create color wheel collages using magazines. Follow these easy steps:
1. Gather images that represent primary, secondary and tertiary colors including tints and shades.
2. Cut images out and organize into piles of primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
3. Assemble the clippings in a color wheel format. Do not glue them down yet.
4. Ask students to consider how the color groupings of images make them feel. Discuss ways to enhance the collage as they fine tune their arrangements.
5. Mount the final arrangements on paper or board.
