In a collaborative PiktoTape™ drawing, there’s a place for every maker. When we work with groups of mixed abilities, we try to find visual solutions that honor everyone’s efforts. In this mural, students confident with figure drawing worked on the figures, while those who were less confident created the array of crystals in various sizes. Students found that the crystals were a super-satisfying geometric shape to draw. We made sure to emphasize to the students how the crystals were central to the success of the whole artwork and that we needed as many crystals as they could draw.
