This figure was created by a high-school student who spent nearly an hour adding layers of tape to mold the 3D nose, mouth, and eyes of the face. The student stated that manipulating the tape spoke to their love for making things out of clay.

Sometimes your best drawing students, those who draw very carefully with pencils and pens, may be frustrated because they perceive tape to be a less precise medium. Encourage them to experiment with new ways of rendering tape rather than trying to recreate their pencil drawings.
